The FAA has decreed that all commercial airliners flying in the USA must have the new fortified cockpit door installed by April of 2003. No cockpit door, no matter how well engineered, provides flight deck security when it is open, i.e. when aircrew are entering or leaving. It is at those vulnerable times that hijackers make their move, so quickly that there is no possible defence. CRUPAX provides that defence, and does it in a very unobtrusive manner.

The CRUPAX System is designed to:
a) deny cockpit access to intruders
b) restore public confidence in airline safety

CRUPAX is under development, commercialization target date January, 2003.
